linked, synced, and inked
I was intrigued by the idea of posting any song I happened to be listening to in Grooveshark Desktop, which has become my go-to application for music over the past several months. I knew that the only social site Grooveshark has officially implemented a linking system for was Last.fm, so I worked out the following system:
- Grooveshark scrobbles to Last.fm
- A Perl script running in the background on my computer, which I found through a number of queries and links, recieves this scrobble
- The Perl script then sends “I’m currently listening to [song title] - [artist]” to Twitter.
- Twitter posts to Facebook
In other, more interesting (and less tech-oriented) news, I’m vastly enjoying my sketchbook, and I’m using the mess-up or spare pages that have little drawn on them to store quotes on a quest to memorize approximately 5 quotes a day for the next few months, or possibly years. We shall see. Yes, I’ll post the exceptionally good quotes here.
